Lothar Wardanjan (born October 20, 1951 ) is a former German soccer player .

Athletic career

Wardanjan played for 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 , which he left for North America in 1973. There he played one season for the Toronto Metros in the North American Soccer League and played eleven games in which he made three assists.

Wardanjan then returned to Germany, where he played for SV Rieneck and Kickers Würzburg , among others . For the latter, he completed 32 games in the 1977/78 season in the 2nd Bundesliga , scoring three goals. With the Kickers he had won the Bavarian League championship a year earlier . In the 1978/79 season he played for VfB Friedrichshafen in the newly founded amateur league Baden-Württemberg . On matchday 12, in the game against the then leaders 1. FC Eislingen , he scored a sensational goal with a solo run from the center line and the subsequent heavy shot from the edge of the penalty area. VfB Friedrichshafen won its third game 3-2, but was relegated at the end of the season with only six wins. Then he joined the league competitor SV Neckargerach , for which he ran up until 1983 in the third highest division.
