Lothar Ziörjen (born February 24, 1955 in Zurich ) is a Swiss politician ( BDP ).

Lothar Ziörjen grew up in Regensdorf and Schwerzenbach . At the age of 20 he moved to Dübendorf . He is an architect and has been working in this profession for 30 years.

In 1980 he joined the SVP , which he left after almost 20 years (1999). In 2001 he joined the Democratic Party in Dübendorf, which merged with the BDP on May 5, 2009.

Lothar Ziörjen was elected to the Dübendorf city government in 1994. At first he was head of the building construction department and stayed there until 2006. From 2002 he was vice-president and since 2006 he has been city president of Dübendorf. In 2011 he was elected to the Cantonal Council and the National Council. He resigned from the National Council in January 2015 in order to fully devote himself to the city council. Rudolf Winkler was sworn in as his successor .

Ziörjen is married and has two children.
