Lotte Eckener

Lotte Eckener (* 1906 in Friedrichshafen , † 1995 in Konstanz ) was a German photographer and publisher.

Life

Lotte Eckener was born in Friedrichshafen in 1906 as the daughter of the famous airship builder Hugo Eckener . At the age of 18 she moved to Munich and after successfully completing her training at the Bavarian State Institute for Photography, she was able to work for the photographer Alexander Binder in Berlin . She portrayed celebrities such as Josef von Sternberg , Helene Thimig and Anny Ondra in the prestigious studio . In addition, she was interested in nature photography; she dealt in particular with landscapes and nature around Lake Constance . In 1935 she married the Constance dentist Paul Simon and published other books. In addition to her work as a photographer, she worked as a publisher for the newly founded Simon und Koch Verlag until 1967 .

Lotte Eckener died in Constance in 1995.
