Lotte Fochler-Frömel

Lotte Fochler-Frömel , also spelling other names, (born as Charlotte Fochler May 1, 1884 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary ; died August 1, 1972 in Vienna) was an Austrian designer .

Life

Charlotte Fochler was a sister of the painter Franz Fochler. She married the architect Franz Frömel , and the applied artist Charlotte Frömel was a daughter.

Fochler-Frömel graduated from the technical school for art embroidery and then studied with Josef Hoffmann at the Vienna School of Applied Arts . She was a member of the Austrian Werkbund , 1908-14 she worked for the Wiener Werkstätte . She designed fabrics for the Haas company, fashion accessories, including leatherwork. She later worked as a fashion and fabric designer for various companies in Berlin and Munich.

A part of her estate, consisting of watercolors, drawings, drafts for fabric samples, dolls and fashion as well as photos of her work, is kept in the library and works on paper collection of the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna.
