Louis Caravaque
Louis Caravaque ( January 31, 1684 - June 9, 1754 ) was a French painter .
Life
Caravaque is particularly known as a portrait painter and painter of history paintings in Russia . He grew up in Gascony . After training as a painter in France, he went to Russia, where he continued his life. Among other things, he portrayed various members of the royal family; several pictures are now in the possession of the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg .
