Louis Féraud
Louis Féraud (born February 13, 1920 in Arles , † December 28, 1999 in Paris ) was a French fashion designer and painter .
biography
In 1959 he opened his first boutique in Cannes , with early customers including Kim Novak, Ingrid Bergman and Danielle Mitterrand. The creations became best known in the 1960s with Brigitte Bardot , who also wore the clothes in films. Louis Féraud also published two novels and worked as an artist. In 1995 Féraud, suffering from Alzheimer's disease, withdrew from the studio and left the business to his daughter Kiki.
The Féraud fashion house
In addition to haute couture under the name Louis Feraud Paris , prêt-à-porter models were also developed, which bore the name Louis Feraud . The company took part in the first haute couture fashion show in 1965. Louis Feraud not only designed himself, but also hired others, including Jean-Louis Scherrer between 1959 and 1962 and Per Spook from 1963 to 1977.
After the Dutch Secon Group took over the company, a time at Escada followed ; the Alliance Designers Group took it over from a financial investor.
Today Féraud produces prêt-à-porter and couture collections, men's fashion and again women's fashion. Under the Féraud Universe label, bed linen and home supplies are offered to a limited extent.
