Louis Hammerich

Louis Leonor Hammerich (born July 31, 1892 in Copenhagen , † November 1, 1975 in Hillerød ) was a Danish Germanist .

Hammerich studied German, Nordic studies and Latin in Copenhagen from 1910 to 1915, received his doctorate in 1915 and qualified as a professor in 1918. From 1922 to 1958 he was a professor at the University of Copenhagen.

In 1959 he received the Brothers Grimm Prize from the Philipps University of Marburg .
