Louis Jungmann

Louis Jungmann (first name actually Ludwig ; * January 2, 1832 in Weimar ; † September 20, 1892 ibid) was a German composer , pianist and music teacher .

Jungmann was a student at the teacher training college in Weimar. He later received lessons from Johann Gottlob Töpfer (composition) and Franz Liszt (piano). From 1869 he taught at the so-called Sophien-Stift (a secondary school for girls ) in Weimar. He was one of the three roses of the Weimar Masonic Lodge Anna Amalia .

As a composer, Jungmann left behind in particular works for piano, chamber music and songs.
