Louis Marc

Ludwig Wilhelm (Louis) Marc (born May 25, 1796 in Arolsen ; † January 16, 1857 there ) was a German doctor and member of parliament.

Marc was the son of the factory owner in Külte and the Hessian finance councilor Isaak Abraham Marc and his wife Gelchen Levi from Gotha. The father, who was originally of the Mosaic faith, was baptized Evangelical Lutheran with his family on July 7, 1808 and then called himself Heinrich Wilhelm Marc. The mother took the name Marianne Leonhardi. Louis Marc married on September 30, 1821 in Arolsen Juliane ( Julia ) Eleonora Mark, divorced Graepel, the daughter of the former war commissioner for the Waldeck troops in America Philipp Mark (1739-1810).

Marc attended grammar school in Korbach from 1809 to 1811 and then studied medicine. After graduating as Dr. med. he lived as a merchant and banker in Arolsen, where he was the founder of the rural hospital. He had been a member of the General Arms Committee since 1837 and treasurer of the Arolsener Sparkasse since 1844. From 1849 to 1855 he was head of the Mild Foundations in Arolsen. In 1840 he was appointed finance councilor.

After the March Revolution he was from April 3 to June 14, 1848 as a representative of the city of Arolsen Landstand . In 1850 he was a member of the state house of the Erfurt Union Parliament .
