Louis Napoléon Murat (born December 22, 1851 in Paris , † September 22, 1912 there ) was a French rider and Olympic champion.

Louis Napoléon Murat was a great-nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte , grandson of Caroline Bonaparte and Joachim Murat and son of Napoléon Lucien Murat . In 1873 he married the Ukrainian noblewoman Eudoxia Michailowna Somowa (1851-1924) in Odessa , with whom he had three children.

Murat started in 1900 at the Olympic Games in Paris in three different equestrian disciplines. In the "Show of Riding Horses", a discipline whose exact criteria are not known and of which it is unclear whether it was official, he won the gold medal with General , in long jumping he took fourth place with Bayard .

A descendant of Louis Napoléon Murat is the American actor René Murat Auberjonois .
