The carriage house Louise-Gueury-Straße 410 is in the Hardter Wald district in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
The building was built in 1903/1905. It was entered under No. L 016 on December 15, 1987 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .
location
The choice of the construction site for the municipal pulmonary hospital required precise planning due to the special requirements. A suitable site was found about five kilometers west of the city center, in the Hardter Forest , where a total of four larger buildings were erected. Sanatorium with administration building, welfare center for lung patients, forest recreation center and forest school.
architecture
In addition to the large forest clinic, the magistrate is constructing other buildings on the foundation's premises . One of these buildings, built between 1903 and 1905, is the so-called Kutscherhaus "a building with apartments for three married employees", which is not far from the main entrance to the clinic premises. The coach house is free on all sides. It is completely covered with rough plaster and partly executed in red half-timbering . The house consists of two structures, a right-angled main part is a U-shaped extension with a central, rectangular bulge in front.
The so-called coach house, which was built in the style of a castle, is a typical building like the one found in stately buildings of the time. In view of its well-being and in the context of the actual clinic, the building is worth protecting for architectural and socio-historical reasons.
