The residential building Louise-Gueury-Straße 420 , also called Villa Louise , is in the Hardter Wald district in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
The building was built in 1903/1905. It was entered under no. L 017 on December 15, 1987 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .
location
The choice of the construction site for the municipal pulmonary hospital required precise planning due to the special requirements. A suitable site was found about five kilometers west of the city center, in the Hardter Forest , where a total of four larger buildings were erected. Sanatorium with administration building, welfare center for lung patients, forest recreation center and forest school.
architecture
The former home of the head doctor is very close to the main entrance to the lung sanatorium.
The villa-like building was built between 1903 and 1905. It is free on all sides and covered with rough plaster, individual parts are made of reddish half-timbering . A high plaster base surrounds the whole building. On one side a mighty triangular gable with half-timbering, on the other side a hexagonal bay window at roof height , closes off the building.
The former doctor's house, the so-called Villa Luise , is a typical building, as one likes to find it as or in the stately architecture of the time. In view of its well-being and in the context of the actual clinic , the building is worth protecting for architectural and socio-historical reasons.
