Louise Merzeau (born Sylvie Merzeau ; * November 8, 1963 ; † July 15, 2017 ) was a French photographer and professor at the University of Paris-Nanterre who specialized in information and communication science .

Life

Louise Merzeau graduated from the École Normale Supérieure de Saint-Cloud in 1982 . In 1985 she passed the Agrégation for Modern Literature. She received her PhD in information and communication science at the University of Paris VIII in 1993 with the dissertation Du scripturaire à l'indiciel: texte, photographie, document . In 2011 she qualified as a professor with the text Pour une médiologie de la mémoire . She has worked as a photographer since 1990 and has taught at the University of Paris-Nanterre since 2016. In addition, Louise Marzeau was a member of the scientific advisory board of the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) France from 2015 to 2017 .
