The Low Reef ( English for low reef ) is a rocky reef in the archipelago of South Georgia . It stretches for 1.5 km off the eastern end of Annenkov Island .
The name Low Rock appears on a 1931 British Admiralty map for a cliff rock at the northeast end of the reef. The South Georgia Survey carried out measurements in this area from 1956 to 1957, adapting the designation, also in order to clearly distinguish it from the neighboring Hauge Reef .
