The Hauge Reef is a chain of islands and cliffs off the south coast of South Georgia . It extends from the eastern foothills of Annenkov Island in an east-northeast direction to a landmark 5 km west-southwest of Cape Darnley . The Hauge Reef includes, in west-east order, Barker Island , Endurance Island and Pillow Rock .
The first mapping was done in 1819 by participants in the first Russian Antarctic expedition (1819–1821) under the direction of Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen . The South Georgia Survey surveyed and named between 1951 and 1952. It is named after the Norwegian sealer captain Ole Hauge, who helped the South Georgia Survey with its work during this time.
