The Loxxess AG is a medium-sized logistics company headquartered in Tegernsee . The focus of the entrepreneurial work lies in the development and provision of solutions and service offers in the field of contract logistics and fulfillment . The company is wholly owned by the Amberger family.

history

Loxxess emerged from companies of the former Material Depot Service Gesellschaft mbH (MDSG) based in Bonn-Bad Godesberg. The MDSG was a federally owned company that was founded to store the former material stocks of the NVA and to provide consolidation and deconsolidation services for the distribution of transfer goods in the course of German reunification. The company was privatized in 1994 and sold to the current shareholders in 1998. The years 1999 and 2000 were used to restructure the company and develop new business areas. In 2001, the former MDSG companies in Biebesheim am Rhein , Buchen, Kitzingen , Merkendorf and Lohfelden, as well as Schertler Eurologistik in Neuburg, were brought into Loxxess AG.

In 2005 the internationalization of Loxxess AG began. The acquisition of the Polish company Transteam expanded the branch network in Warsaw and opened a branch in the Czech Republic with the construction of a new logistics center in Bor, Czech Republic. In the logistics park there, the company now operates several warehouses for various customers. In 2006, twelve locations of ABX Contract Logistics Deutschland GmbH were taken over because ABX Logistics withdrew from Germany. As a result, Loxxess gained locations in Hamburg, Berlin, Bremen, Hanover, Duisburg, Gladbeck, Cologne, Mannheim, Homburg and Munich. In 2009, Loxxess entered media logistics through the acquisition of the former Premus Logistik, a subsidiary of the Premiere Group (now Sky Deutschland ).

In 2020 the company will be represented at a total of 26 locations in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic and will manage around 600,000 square meters of storage space, including two fully automated high-bay warehouses.

Corporate structure

Loxxess operates as a holding company for the individual companies, each of which has operational responsibility for the services provided. The AG is headed by a multi-person management team, which consists of managing directors of the individual companies, acts as a management committee and reports to the board of directors.

Loxxess specializes in six industries: Industrial + Chemical Services, Mail Order + E-Commerce, Consumer Electronics + Media Products, Sports + Lifestyle, FMCG + Sensitive Goods and Pharma + Healthcare.

In 2000, Peter Amberger, the founder and current chairman of the supervisory board of Loxxess, founded Loxxess Pharma, which specializes in pharmaceutical logistics. Loxxess Pharma is a joint venture in which, in addition to Loxxess (34%), Aenova Holding GmbH (33%) and the global pharmaceutical retailer Walgreens Boots Alliance (33%) hold shares. Loxxess Pharma manages locations in Gelting (15,000 m² storage area), Wolfratshausen (high-bay warehouse with 30,000 pallet spaces and 10,000 m² ramp storage) and in Neutraubling (30,000 m² storage area). Loxxess Pharma employs around 180 people, including three licensed and doctoral pharmacists, to ensure the required quality in the pharmaceutical sector (2018) and generated sales of 45 million euros in 2018 (previous year: 26 million euros).
