Lu Deming

Lu Deming ( Chinese  陸德明  /  陆德明 , Pinyin Lù Démíng ; approx. 550 - 630 ), also Lu Yuanlang ( 陸 元朗 , Lù Yuánlǎng ), was a Confucian scholar and philologist from the time of the Tang Dynasty . Lu Deming was from Wu in Suzhou (formerly Wu (Wuxian) County of Suzhou). In his book Jingdian Shiwen 经典释文 he led for his investigations comments and remarks of about 230 scholars from the time of the Han , WEI and Northern and Southern Dynasties to. It contains notes on the Confucian classics as well as Daoist texts ( Laozi and Zhuangzi ), including alternative pronunciations of characters in certain contexts.
