The city is the administrative seat of the district of the same name . Nawada is 107 km southeast of Patna . Nawada has the status of a City Council ( Nagar parishad ). The city is divided into 33 wards . In the 2011 census, the population was 98,029. The city is part of the historical Magadha region .
