Nikola Gjorgiev ( Macedonian Никола Ѓорѓиев ; born July 23, 1988 in Strumica ) is a North Macedonian volleyball player .

Career

Gjorgiev got into volleyball through his father, who was president of his home club. He started his career at OK Strumica. In 2008 he went to OK Radnički Kragujevac and was with the Association of Serbian Masters. The following season the diagonal attacker played in Italy for Volley Forlì . Then he moved to Ankara to Maliye Milli Piyango SK. In the 2014/15 season he was active in Paris Volley and became MVP and best scorer in the French league. From 2015 to 2017 Gjorgiev played in the Japanese league for Toray Arrows and then for a year in Poland with AZS Politechnika Warszawa . He then returned to Japan and played for Osaka Blazers Sakai. In 2019 he was signed by the German Bundesliga club VfB Friedrichshafen .
