Nicolas Maréchal (born March 4, 1987 in Sainte-Catherine ) is a French national volleyball player .

Career

Maréchal started his career with Harnes Volley-Ball. From 2006 to 2009 he played volleyball at Tourcoing Lille Métropole . With the club he reached the national cup final in 2007 and 2009 and was runner-up in 2009. Then the outside attacker moved to league rivals Stade Poitevin Poitiers . With the club he became French champion in 2011. A year later Poitiers was runner-up. In the 2012/13 season, Maréchal played volleyball at AS Cannes . Then he went to Poland to Jastrzębski Węgiel . With the club he finished third in the 2013/14 Champions League . He then moved to Skra Bełchatów within the Polish league . With the French national team , he won the world league in 2015 . In the same year he was European champion with France in the final against Slovenia .

With Bełchatów he won the Polish Cup in the 2015/16 season. In the 2016 World League , he came third with the national team. With France he also took part in the 2016 Olympic Games . In the 2016/17 season he played for the Turkish club Istanbul BBSK . He then moved back to Italy to Bunge Ravenna . With the club he won the Challenge Cup 2017/18 . In the 2018/19 season he played for the Russian first division club Yenisei Krasnoyarsk . He then moved to the Polish club Asseco Resovia Rzeszów . In 2020 Maréchal was signed by the German Bundesliga club VfB Friedrichshafen .
