Lukas Maase (born August 28, 1998 in Dresden ) is a German volleyball player . The middle blocker made his national team debut in 2019. 2020 reached the cup final with the SWD Powervolleys Düren . From 2020 he will play for VfB Friedrichshafen .

Career

Maase got into volleyball through his father. He was trained at the Sports High School in Dresden and from 2006 played at VC Dresden . With the junior national team, he took part in the U19 World Cup in Argentina in 2015 . In 2016 the middle blocker reached sixth place with the juniors at the U20 European Championships in Bulgaria . After the descent of VC Dresden from the second Bundesliga, he moved to GSVE Delitzsch . In 2018 Maase, whose sister Rica Maase plays for Dresdner SC , was signed by the Bundesliga club SWD Powervolleys Düren .

With the team he reached the semifinals in the DVV Cup and the quarterfinals in the Bundesliga playoffs . In spring 2019 he was initially appointed to the German B national team before national coach Andrea Giani nominated him for the Nations League tournament in Brazil. There he made his debut in the senior national team on June 23 . In the 2019/20 DVV-Pokal , Maase reached the final with the SWD Powervolleys, which the team lost to the Berlin Recycling Volleys . When the Bundesliga season was canceled shortly before the playoffs, Düren was in sixth place in the table. He then moved to league competitor VfB Friedrichshafen , where he will be used as a diagonal attacker in the future.
