Luc Héry

Luc Héry (* 1961 ) is a French violinist.

Héry studied violin with Pierre Doukan and chamber music with Jean Hubeau at the Conservatoire de Paris . In 1980 he received first prize in both subjects. In 1983 he won third prize at the Concours international Tibor Varga in Sion.

From 1984 to 1986 Héry Geiger was in the orchestra of the Paris Opera , after which he became a member of the Orchester National de France , whose principal violinist he has been since 1991. With this he performed as a soloist a. a. 1996 under the direction of Lawrence Foster Henri Dutilleux 's violin concerto and in 2000 with the violist Nicolas Bône and under the direction of Yevgeny Swetlanow Mozart's Sinfonia concertante .

Héry appears regularly as a chamber musician on Radio France . In addition to recordings as an orchestral musician, he recorded the string quintets by Brahms and Mozart for Harmonia Mundi with the soloists of the Orchester national de France . Héry is also a professor at the Conservatoire de Paris, where he teaches orchestral playing for strings.
