Luc David van Slooten (born April 17, 2002 ) is a German basketball player . He is in the squad of the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig .

career

Van Slooten first played football and later also basketball. He went through the youth department of SC Rasta Vechta . Following the 2016/17 season, he was named “Player of the Year” in the youth basketball league  . He was also a member of the second Vechta men's team in the first Regionalliga Nord and received the award “Newcomer of the Year” from the internet service eurobasket.com .

In the run-up to the 2017/18 season he was accepted into the professional squad of SC Rasta and made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA during the season . Van Slooten played 17 ProA games and was promoted to the Bundesliga with Rasta as ProA champion in May 2018. He contributed an average of 1.5 points per match to this success. In the 2018/19 season he made 14 Bundesliga appearances (0.4 points on average) and surprisingly reached the semi-finals with Vechta as a newcomer to the league.

In summer 2020 he left his home for Basketball Löwen Braunschweig .

National team

He took part in the European Championships in 2016 and 2017 with the German U16 national team. In April 2018 he won the Albert Schweitzer tournament with the German U18 national team . He played for Germany at the U18 European Championships in summer 2019 and reached eleventh place with the team.
