Luca Ferrari (diplomat)

Luca Ferrari (born October 28, 1961 in Rome ) is an Italian diplomat who has been ambassador to Riyadh since March 7, 2016 .

Life

He is married and has a son. He is a Master in Political Science from the University of Rome . He works for Aspenia, the geopolitical journal of the Aspen Institute Italy. He is a regular speaker for the Executive Management Program of IE Business School , Spain.

Diplomatic career

In 1986 he joined the foreign service and was employed in Moscow and Washington, DC until 1999 . From 1999 he was assistant to the foreign minister and headed the Middle East department until 2005 . From 2005 to 2009 he was a Counselor in Washington, DC. From 2009 October 2013 he was Deputy Head of the Embassy in Madrid. From October 2013 to December 2015 he was engaged in global and multilateral issues in Rome. In December 2015, Ferrari was appointed Ambassador to Riyadh , where it was accredited on March 7, 2016.
