Luca Löffler

Luca Löffler (born August 26, 1998 in Oberstdorf ) is a German short tracker who competes for the EC Oberstdorf .

Career

Luca Löffler first came into contact with the short track sport in 2007. When Luca completed a trial training session in the winter of 2008, his passion developed relatively quickly. In the years 2008 to 2015 he was three times German champion in the all-around and twice German champion over 500 m. In March 2012 he qualified for the first time for the European Cup final in Brașov , Romania. There he took eighth place.

In the 2016/2017 season he qualified together with the German junior team for the World Championships in Innsbruck and finished with a 40th place. Furthermore, he was used together with Adrian Lüdtke , Moritz Kreuseler and Ivan Radevic in the German junior relay, which, however, had to end the competition prematurely in the run-up. In 2018, Luca traveled to Tomaszów Mazowiecki , Poland for his second Junior World Championships .

In the 2018/19 season, Lucas made his first appearance at the Senior World Cup in Dresden. There he started over the 500 m, 1000 m and with the German men's relay. Over the 500 m he had to be content with a 41st place. The season together with Adrian Lüdtke, Florian Becker and Tobias Pietsch finished with a 13th place. The next day we went to Turin for the next World Cup. There Luca was used for the 500 m and again for the relay. He finished his season at the German championships with a 3rd place in the overall standings and a runner-up title in the 500 m.

After Luca completed his Abitur at the Gertrud-Von-Le-Fort Gymnasium in 2018 , his success gave him the chance to join the Bundeswehr 's sports promotion group in April 2019 . At the same time, he began studying business psychology at the University of Applied Management in Berlin.
