The film documents five different events around the world that took place in June 1963:
- In the Vatican from June 3 to June 21, 1963 Paul VI. elected pope.
- On June 16, 1963, as part of the space race , the Soviet Union sent the two rockets Vostok 5 and Vostok 6 into space. Valentina Tereshkova was the first woman in space.
- Fighting took place between communist Vietnamese and US soldiers in South Vietnam .
- In Tuscaloosa , Alabama , Governor George Wallace spoke out against the integration of "races" at the University of Alabama with the so-called Stand in the Schoolhouse Door .
- On June 26, 1963, John F. Kennedy visited Rudolph-Wilde-Platz in Berlin and gave his famous “ I am a Berliner ” speech
