Lucas Matías Licht (born April 6, 1981 in Rosario ) is an Argentine football player who plays in Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata in the Argentine Primera División . He also has an Italian passport.

Player career

The Argentinean Lucas Licht comes from the youth of the traditional Argentinian club Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata for which he played in 127 games between 2000 and 2006 and scored eight goals. In the 2006/2007 season, the defender dared to move to Europe and joined the Spanish first division club Getafe . In his first season he reached the Spanish Cup final with his team, but lost 1-0 to the big favorites Sevilla FC .

In the 2007/2008 season, Lucas Licht was able to earn a regular place at Getafe FC after starting problems in the previous season and also played in the UEFA Cup , for which his team qualified for the first time. In the closing stages of the 2008/09 season he lost his permanent place in the team again. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he was no longer used. In autumn 2009 he terminated his contract.

In early 2010, Licht joined the Racing Club from Buenos Aires. At first it was only used irregularly. In the Clausura 2011 he became a regular player, until the end of the year he was regularly in the starting line-up. In the 2012 Clausura he only rarely got a chance. In mid-2012 he left the club and returned to Gimnasia. The club played in the Primera B Nacional at the time , but managed to return to the Primera División in 2013.
