Lucas Schneider (born August 25, 1995 in Kreuztal ) is a German handball player . He plays on the right back position and is currently under contract with TuS Ferndorf in the 2nd handball Bundesliga .

Career

Lucas Schneider started playing handball at TuS Ferndorf. There he went through all youth teams up to the A-youth . In the 2011/12 season, as a B-youth, he already played a key role in the A-youth, which was qualified for the first-time A-youth Bundesliga . In his last season in Ferndorf, at the age of just 17, he was an integral part of the first senior team and gained valuable experience in the 2nd handball league . At the same time, Schneider was appointed to the youth national team and was allowed to play as a national player at the Rookie Cup in Berlin.

For the 2013/14 season he moved to GWD Minden , where he played in the A-youth Bundesliga in his last year of youth and was also a regular in the second division of GWD Minden in the 3rd division . He was also part of the extended squad of the Bundesliga team, but was not used there in any official league game.

After two years in Minden, he was drawn back to his home club TuS Ferndorf, which had just been promoted to the second division. There he shared the position in the right back space with Florian Baumgärtner . In the second half of the 2016/17 season, Schneider suffered a scaphoid fracture on his right wrist that put him out of action for the rest of the season. After the sealed relegation back to the 3rd division, it was announced that he would extend his contract for another year at TuS Ferndorf.
