Luciana Krebs Genro (born January 17, 1971 in Santa Maria ) is a Brazilian politician , member of the Brazilian parliament and candidate of the Partido Socialismo e Liberdade (PSOL) party for the Brazilian presidential election in 2014.

Life

She is a daughter of the former governor of Rio Grande do Sul , Tarso Herz Genro, and the doctor Sandra Krebs Genro; on her grandparents' side she is of German descent. Tarso Genro belonged to the Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT), which she also joined in 1987. In 2005 she joined the newly founded PSOL.

Until her election to the legislative assembly of Rio Grande do Sul in 1994, she worked as an English teacher.
