Luciano Erba

Luciano Erba (born September 18, 1922 in Milan , † August 3, 2010 ibid) was an Italian poet , French writer and translator.

life and work

Erba studied at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. In 1943 he went to Switzerland and in 1947 to Paris. In 1950 he returned to Milan and was a lecturer in French literature at the Catholic University from 1955 to 1963. From 1963 to 1966 he stayed in the United States. He then taught at various Italian universities, most recently from 1985 to 1997 as a full professor at the Catholic University. Starting in 1951, Erba published numerous volumes of poetry. T have been translated into multiple languages. He has received several poetry awards, including the Antonio Feltrinelli Prize .
