Luciano Ricci

Luciano Ricci (born November 16, 1928 in Santa Vittoria in Matenano , † June 22, 1973 in Samoa ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Ricci began his film career as an assistant director and head of the second rotating staff for the documentarist Renato Cenni and for Gian Paolo Callegari . Between 1960 and 1964 he himself staged four notable works, including the Bible adaptation Giuseppe venduto dai fratelli or the horror film Il castello dei morti vivi , which came astonishingly close to the leading English show plays of the time. His most personal work remains the Senza sole né luna , created in 1962 , which takes his story during the construction of the Mont Blanc tunnel . Then Ricci turned to television tasks. The director, who occasionally also worked as a screenwriter and sometimes as Herbert Wise , died in an accident in Samoa at the age of 44.
