Lucius Aurelius Cotta (Consul 119 BC)
Lucius Aurelius Cotta was a Roman politician of the Republican times and, through his daughter Aurelia, the grandfather of Gaius Iulius Caesar .
He held the praetur in 122 BC at the latest. He became consul in 119 BC. Chr.
Cotta intended to overturn a law by the People's Tribune Gaius Marius in the Senate by voting in the Comitia , but had to back down due to massive threats from the People's Tribune.
