Lucius Caecilius Metellus Diadematus was a politician of the Roman Republic .

Lucius Caecilius Metellus Diadematus was the second son of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Macedonicus . He got his nickname because of the bandage of a head wound. Diadematus was probably an opponent of Gaius Gracchus . As consul in 117 BC He promoted the development of the country in Italy and perhaps put on the Via Caecilia . He or Lucius Caecilius Metellus Delmaticus was together in 115 BC. BC with Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus Censor , in which he expelled 32 senators from the Senate and suppressed offensive theater performances. In the year 100 he fought against Lucius Appuleius Saturninus . 99 joined Diadematus together with Gaius Caecilius Metellus Caprarius for the recall of his cousin Quintus Caecilius Metellus Numidicus .
