Amevou-Ludovic Assemoassa (born September 18, 1980 in Lyon ) is a former Togolese national football player . He played a total of 144 games in the French Ligue 2 and the Spanish Segunda División . With the national team he took part in the Africa Cup and the World Cup in 2006 .

Career

Assemoassa was born in France , grew up there and played at the top French club Olympique Lyon in his youth . When he could not assert himself there, he switched to the lower class playing Clermont Foot Auvergne . After four years, he moved to Spain in 2005 , where he was initially under contract with Ciudad de Murcia in the Segunda División , before this club was renamed FC Granada 74 in 2007 after a merger . At the beginning of his sophomore season, he was unable to play due to a torn patellar tendon during the World Cup . He ended his career in summer 2018.

Although he has not yet made his big breakthrough in Europe, Assemoassa was part of the Togolese national team . In the summer of 2006 he also took part in the World Cup in Germany , but came only to one use in the defeat against South Korea in the first round match. After an hour he injured his knee without any action from an opponent and was unable to play the rest of the tournament.
