Ludovico Mazzolino
Ludovico Mazzolino (* around 1480/81 in Ferrara ; † before or around 1530 in Ferrara, also called Mazzuòli or Manzulìn ) was an Italian painter of the Ferrara School .
Life
Mazzolini was first a student of Lorenzo Costa , but soon switched to Domenico Panetti . Afterwards Mazzolini lived and worked at the courts of Bologna . In 1521 he married Giovanna, a daughter of the Venetian painter Bartolomeo Vacchi .
On September 27, 1528, he fell ill with the plague and made his will, which mentions two brothers, his wife and two daughters. It is not known exactly when he died. A document dated December 22, 1530 concerning his daughter Maria mentions that he has already passed away. He was buried in the church of S. Gregorio in Ferrara, to whose parish he had belonged.

In addition to Perugino and Pinturicchio , Mazzolini also belonged to the Ferrara school . Mazzolini is also said to have worked with the brothers Battista and Dosso Dossi in his hometown . His selection and exuberant use of bright colors and golden reliefs soon made him a sought-after artist.
