Ludwig Konrad Smalcalder (born November 7, 1696 in Gießen , † March 23, 1774 in Tübingen ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Ludwig Conrad Smalcalder was matriculated at the University of Tübingen in 1710 . In 1721 he became Vice-Secretary . In 1724 he became adjoint university secretary and in 1727 received a promise to receive his father's post without election after his father's death, so that from 1733–1745 he became real university secretary. In 1733 he became associate professor of law, 1734 professor at the Collegium Illustre, 1745–1774 full professor of feudal law and in 1749 and 1756 rector of the University of Tübingen and Princely Council. His portrait, painted in 1756, hangs in the professors' gallery in Tübingen .
