Ludwig Dietrich von Pfuhl (* December 5, 1669 ; † October 1745 ) was an imperial field marshal lieutenant and commandant of the Kehl fortress .

His father was the Lippe Landdrost George Ehrenreich von Pfuhl (* 1646), lord of Helfta and Polleben . General Adam von Pfuel was his grandfather.

Ludwig Dietrich von Pfuhl spent his youth at the Württemberg court and in 1699 became a colonel and commander of the ducal bodyguard. In 1707 the duke made him general of the Swabian district and ambassador to the imperial court in Vienna. In November 1731 he succeeded General von Rodt as commander of the Kehl fortress . The fortress was besieged by the French in 1733 and so Pfuhl had to surrender on October 29, 1733. Shortly afterwards, on January 2, 1734, he was appointed Field Marshal Lieutenant by the Kaiser. As such he then took part in the Rhine campaign of 1734/35.

Pfuhl died in 1745 and was married twice. His second wife was Maria Luise Johanna Josepha von Grävenitz (born March 19, 1705, † September 19, 1746), daughter of President Friedrich Wilhelm von Grävenitz , in 1719 .
