Ludwig Ehlers (politician)

Ludwig Ehlers (born April 21, 1901 in Bad Bevensen , Uelzen district; † April 28, 1973 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ) in Lower Saxony and a member of the NSDAP during National Socialism and a professional representative of the rope trade .

Life

Ehlers attended secondary school in Harburg and then began a rope apprenticeship. After his apprenticeship, he attended the textile technology center in Sorau / Niederlausitz and then took up a job as a textile engineer . He was employed in spinning mills and rope mills mainly in East Germany and Berlin. Ehlers successfully completed the master craftsman's examination and began commercial training. In 1928 he joined his father's company (a rope factory and a string wholesaler), of which he became sole owner 10 years later in 1938.

He took on an activity in the specialist organizations. He was also elected chairman of the Reichsverband des Seilerhandwerk between 1936 and 1945 and was a member of the board of the federal association from 1946.

He had been a NSDAP member since May 1, 1933 ( membership number 2,573,054).

In 1952 he was elected councilor of the city of Bad Bevensen and was subsequently mayor. This was followed by the election to the district council of the Uelzen district . In 1956 he was re-elected. Ehlers was also a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from May 6, 1959 to May 5, 1963 in the fourth electoral term .

A street in Bad Bevensen is named after him.
