Ludwig Franz Philipp Houben (born November 2, 1803 in Xanten , † June 7, 1884 in Moers ) was a German lawyer and politician.

Life

Houben, son of the notary and archaeologist Philipp Houben , studied law in Göttingen and Bonn from 1820 . In 1820 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Göttingen, in 1822 the Guestphalia Bonn . After completing his studies, he was a trainee at the higher regional court. In 1829 he became a notary in Goch . In 1832 he settled in Moers . He later received the title of judiciary . Houben also wrote legal writings.

From January 8, 1849 to May 19, 1849 he was a non-attached member of the Frankfurt National Assembly as the successor to Everhard von Mylius. Houben elected Friedrich Wilhelm IV. As Emperor of the Germans.
