Ludwig Heberer

Ludwig Heberer (born June 24, 1915 in Weinheim ; † April 1, 1997 there ) was a German doctor.

Life

After graduating from high school in Weinheim, Ludwig Heberer studied medicine at the universities of Heidelberg , Marburg and Halle .

On June 7, 1939, he passed the medical examination at the University of Berlin . This was followed by a position at the Charité in Berlin before he joined the German Air Force in the same year. In 1941 he received his doctorate in medicine with a thesis on the subject of "Animal experiments under negative pressure chamber experiments with a diet low in vitamins, with particular emphasis on vitamin B1".

After his release from American captivity in 1945, Heberer worked at the state health department in Heidelberg. A further qualification as a sports doctor (1952) and occupational medicine (1976) followed. Furthermore, from 1953 to 1986 he was appointed as an aviation medical expert by the state of Baden-Württemberg . In 1977 he was retired as a government medical director.

Another outstanding activity was his work as a doctor at the Mannheim-Heidelberg JVA as a government medical director , for which he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on October 13, 1978 .

Ludwig Heberer was married and had two children.
