Ludwig Kelber

Ludwig Christian Wilhelm Kelber (born November 25, 1824 in Herrnsheim , † April 12, 1906 in Benk ) was a German pastor and writer .

Life

Born as the son of an Evangelical Lutheran pastor and brother of Karl Johann Jakob Kelber (later Erlangen's mayor), Ludwig Kelber went to high school in Erlangen . From 1843 to 1847 he studied philosophy and evangelical theology at the University of Erlangen . During his studies he became a member of the Bubenruthia fraternity in the winter semester of 1843/44 . After graduating, he worked for nine years as the church vicar , parish administrator and curate . In 1858 he became pastor in Untermerzbach , in 1869 in Memmelsdorf and in 1873 in Benk, where he died in office in 1906.

His son Karl Heinrich Kelber (1862–1954) was also a pastor and writer.
