Ludwig Leschetitzky
Ludwig Leschetitzky (born September 22, 1886 in Vienna , † May 7, 1951 in Linz ) was an Austrian composer and conductor .
Live and act
Leschetitzky was first a bank clerk at Union-Bank Triest and studied from 1906 to 1910 at the local conservatory "Giuseppe Tartini" and in Vienna with E. Thomas. He then worked as a conductor at various German theaters, from 1925 at the Schönbrunn Palace Theater in Vienna.
From 1933 to 1946 Leschetitzky was general music director at the Chemnitz Opera House and often guest conductor at the Vienna State Opera . In 1947 he became Kapellmeister and later opera director at the Landestheater Linz . He was also the conductor of the Linz Symphony Orchestra and head of the conducting, orchestral and choir classes at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz .
