Ludwig Mader

Ludwig Mader (born March 7, 1883 in Obermoschel , Palatinate ; † December 11, 1956 in Fischen im Allgäu ) was a German classical philologist and high school teacher.

On July 14, 1902, he passed the Abitur in Augsburg . He then studied classical philology in Munich , Berlin and Erlangen . He received his doctorate on March 11, 1907 in Erlangen. In 1905 and 1906 he passed the teaching examinations for higher education and then worked as a grammar school teacher: 1906–1907 in Erlangen, 1907–1910 in Bückeburg , 1910–1925 in Essen , from 1925–1945 as director of the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gymnasium, later high school and from 1947 Einhard high school in Aachen .

In addition, he was also active in research, wrote textbooks and translated ancient fables and legends in his retirement.
