Ludwig Mayr

Ludwig Mayr (born August 24, 1876 in Darmstadt , † April 10, 1948 in Ballenstedt ) was a German theater actor and theater director .

Life

After Mayr, son of the opera singers Benedikt Mayr and Antonie Mayr-Olbrich , graduated from secondary school , he was trained by Theodor Münzer at the Darmstädter Hoftheater for two years . In 1896 he made his debut as "Didier" at the Nuremberg Theater . In 1898 he moved to Zurich (inaugural role: "Johannes"). In 1900 he was a guest actor at the Kaiserfestspiele in Wiesbaden as "Archbishop" in "Demetrius". In 1901 he went to the Stadttheater Freiburg for a year . He then worked in Bremen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf (1915–1920) and Berlin.
