Ludwig Muff (chief magistrate, 1806)

Hans Friedrich Wilhelm Ludwig Muff (born September 5, 1806 or October 5, 1806 in Göppingen , † February 11, 1882 in Ulm ) was a Württemberg chief bailiff.

Life

Ludwig Muff came from a long-established line of honor in Württemberg. His father Ludwig Muff was a senior magistrate in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Göppingen and Ulm. He attended pre-school and high school in Ulm and Stuttgart. He then studied camera science in Tübingen . There he was a member of the Germania fraternity . After passing the higher administrative service examination, he was employed as a senior actuary in Kircheim unter Teck, Brackenheim and Gaildorf. In 1841 he was transferred to the government of the Black Forest District in Reutlingen as an office assistant . In 1956 Ludwig Muff was appointed chief administrator in Welzheim and in 1857 then chief administrator in Blaubeuren . Despite an illness that lasted for several years, he was only retired at the age of 68, which he spent in Ulm. In 1873 Muff was honored with the Knight's Cross 1st Class of the Order of Frederick .

His son Karl von Muff (1846–1935) was a Württemberg officer, most recently a lieutenant general.
