Ludwig Neuhaus

Ludwig Bernhard Neuhaus (born April 21, 1810 in Solingen ; † March 3, 1861 in Kreuznach ) was a German politician .

Life

Born the son of a businessman, Neuhaus studied Protestant theology in Bonn and Berlin after attending the Kreuznach grammar school . During his studies he became a member of the old Bonn fraternity in 1830 . Because of this membership, he was from the University of Bonn in 1832 relegated , this relegation in 1833 but lifted and allowed him to study in Berlin. In 1834 he passed the First Theological Examination. In 1835 he was arrested again because of his fraternity activity in Solingen and had to be remanded in the fortress of Wesel . Since he had already been punished in Bonn, the Berlin Chamber of Commerce failed to punish him again in 1836. He gave up his desired career as a clergyman and became a merchant and wine merchant in Kreuznach. There he was active as a city ​​councilor from 1842 to 1844 . In 1846 he was a deputy member of the Rhenish Provincial Parliament for the Kreuznach-Boppard city association . In May 1848 he was elector for the Prussian National Assembly . In 1848/49 he was a member and on the board of the Conservative Association , in November 1848 a member of the Prussian National Assembly, and in 1850 an elector for the Erfurt parliament . In 1856 he was a managing member of the Rhine-Nahe Railway Committee. From 1851 to 1852 and from 1857 until his death he was a city ​​councilor in Kreuznach .
