Career

The attacking player Ludwig “Stixe” Stiglbauer, who came from Teutonia Munich to the “Löwen”, belonged to the first team of SV 1860 Munich from 1926 to 1935, called TSV 1860 Munich from March 13, 1934 . Coach Max Breunig led the white-blue team in the 1926/27 season over the Bavarian regional league (2nd place), the southern German finals in second place (1st place) and a qualifying game on April 24, 1927 in Pforzheim against FSV Frankfurt (2nd place) : 0) in the final round of the German soccer championship . After successes against FC Schalke 04 (3: 1) and VfB Leipzig (3: 0), the “Löwen” failed in the semifinals against 1. FC Nürnberg. Stiglbauer had stormed the right wing in each of the three finals. He formed together with the half right Josef Hornauer the right wing of the team of coach Breunig.

The second outstanding round delivered Stiglbauer and his teammates in the 1930/31 season. Former national player Breunig had returned as coach for Richard Dombi and the "Löwen" game improved steadily. In the southern Bavarian league round, the team from Giesing had to be content with second place behind FC Bayern. In the southern German finals, however, the team found their best form. After 14 games, the "Sechzger" achieved first place with 70:21 goals and 26: 2 points ahead of 1. FC Nürnberg. The subsequent success in the qualifying game against Phönix Ludwigshafen meant that they were again qualified for the final round of the German championship. There the Munich team prevailed with their regular attack Stiglbauer, Ludwig Lachner , Anton Huber , Otto Oeldenberger and Gustav Thalmeier against Meidericher Spielverein (4: 1), Tennis Borussia Berlin (1: 0) and in the semifinals with 2: 0 against Holstein Kiel and moved into the 1931 final. With 3-2 goals, defending champion Hertha BSC prevailed on June 14th in Cologne, the playfully convincing "lions" had to be content with the runner-up.

In the 1960s, Stiglbauer made it into the German finals for the third time in 1933. But here they failed in the semi-finals at FC Schalke 04. In total, he made 10 appearances for the German championship and scored one goal.

In the competition of the Federal Cup he was active on October 9, 1927 in Duisburg in the southern German selection, which lost with 3: 4 goals against West Germany. The south competed with a “ Munich city selection ”. In 1860 there were four players: Alois Pledl , Josef Wendl , Ludwig Stiglbauer and Josef Hornauer . With Adolf Schwab, Hans Schmid, Emil Kutterer, Ludwig Hofmeister, Josef Pöttinger and Ludwig Hofmann, FC Bayern even six players, who were supplemented by Fritz Nebauer from FC Wacker. In the 4: 3 final victory after the extension of southern Germany on April 19, 1931 in Dresden against central Germany, he and his club mate Ludwig Lachner formed the right attacking side. The right winger brought the south 2-1 in the 33rd minute with a goal.
