Ludwig Wilhelm Neumann
Ludwig Wilhelm Neumann (born July 7, 1762 in Perleberg , Mark Brandenburg , † November 30, 1847 in Berlin ) had been an honorary citizen of the city since 1837 for his services to Berlin.
Life
Neumann was born in Perleberg and later studied law at the University of Halle. From 1787 he worked as a trainee lawyer at the Berlin City Court, and one year later moved to the Higher Court, where he was hired as an assessor. In 1795 he went back to the Berlin City Court and in 1803 he was appointed to the judiciary. In 1821 he was appointed by the Royal Ministry of Justice to help reform the process. On his fiftieth anniversary of service, he was granted honorary citizenship of Berlin in 1837.
