Ludwig Wolf (resistance fighter)

Ludwig Wolf (* 1906 ; † 1981 ) was a German communist resistance fighter against National Socialism , prisoner in Buchenwald concentration camp , VVN activist and editor .

Life

Wolf joined the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) and was involved in the Weimar Republic against the emergence of National Socialism . In 1935 he was taken into “ protective custody ”, but was soon released and continued his illegal resistance activities. In 1939 he was deported to the Buchenwald concentration camp and assigned to the " SS Tailoring " work command. He became a member of the KPD's illegal party and took part in the preparations for the liberation of prisoners. Wolf was on the list of 46 political prisoners who were to be liquidated by the SS on April 6, 1945 . The solidarity of the organized prisoners also saves his life.

When the Nazi rule was eliminated, he played a key role in the organization of the Association of Victims of the Nazi Regime (VVN). From 1977 to 1981 he was editor of the organ of the liberated prisoners " The Bell of Buchenwald ".
