Ludwig von Hanau (Canon)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ludwig von Hanau (mentioned from 1341; † March 15, 1387 ), usually called "Lutz", was canon in the dioceses of Speyer and Würzburg .

family

Ludwig von Hanau was the fourth son of Ulrich II von Hanau (* approx. 1280/1288; † 1346) and Agnes von Hohenlohe (* before 1295; † November 29, 1346), daughter of Kraft I. von Hohenlohe . Its earliest documentary mention is for 1341, 1343 it seals with its own seal, so it is now of legal age . Based on the time of his parents' marriage, 1310, and this proof of age, a year of birth can be assumed shortly after 1320.

Because of the primogeniture practiced in the family , only his eldest brother, Ulrich III, followed. (* 1310; † 1369/70), the father in the government. The other sons therefore had to be cared for differently according to their status, for which a spiritual career offered itself.

In 1377 he notarized, together with his brother Kraft von Hanau - both canons in Würzburg - the transfer of the Würzburg fiefs previously held by the von Trimberg family to their nephew and ruling lord of Hanau, Ulrich III., Who inherited them. These are the offices of Schlüchtern and Neuenhaßlau . In 1384 he is named as executor for his brother Kraft von Hanau .
